Bois & Lame
Editorial one-page site for a fictional Brussels barbershop, with a working four-step booking flow.

01 / The brief
A barbershop opens in Brussels, in the Châtelain district. A strong identity, a tight budget, no photo library at launch. The need: one page that sets the tone, a legible service menu, the practical info. And above all, booking an appointment without picking up the phone.
The trap to avoid: the dead brochure. The site needed a clear conversion path, not just a good-looking façade.
02 / The approach
Editorial direction, not a stock-photo bank
An editorial one-pager: serif typography, generous rhythm, sharp hierarchy. The art direction holds without a single photo. Useful when the client hasn't shot anything yet.
Four-step booking
Service → barber → time slot → details, then confirmation. The flow works end to end on the front end, labeled as a demo, and built so Calendly, Cal.com or the salon's own software plugs in exactly where the simulation stops.
The price menu as a design object
Services, durations, prices: the menu is composed like a newspaper page, not an Excel table.
Local trust
Opening hours, an address (fictional, labeled as such), neighbourhood cues: the block that reassures a local customer before a first visit.
03 / What this demonstrates
- Exactly the package I sell to local businesses: the site vitrine with real art direction.
- A conversion path (booking) instead of a dead brochure.
- An integration-ready flow: a real tool (Calendly, Cal.com, salon software) plugs in where the mock sits.
- Strong art direction without heavy assets: the typography does the work.
For a local business, this is the full deliverable: a site that establishes an identity and turns a visit into an appointment. The real version connects to the salon's calendar. Everything else is already there.
